Congratulations

The Indian River County Student Art Exhibition Awards ceremony and reception were held on Friday, April 28th at the Vero Beach Museum of Art.  Annie Kraybill, Director of Education called the student exhibition “a celebration of the artistic achievement of our county’s students and some of the best student artwork I have seen.”

High School Categories and Winners

Drawing

Third Place Lorna A. Nickle, Indian River Charter High School ,
“Translucent Zues”.

Second Place :  Cristen Geller, Indian River Charter High School ,
“On The Other Side of an Imaginary Thought”.

First Place Dylan Thiebeau, Indian River Charter High School ,
“So, What Are We Supposed To Be Doing?”

Painting

Second Place :  Carlos Flores, Indian River Charter High School ,
“Oblivion”.

Mixed Media and Photography

Third Place :  Ashley Zimmerman, Indian River Charter High School ,
“Little Miss Mardi Gras”.

Second Place Cassie Romero, Indian River Charter High School , “Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk”.

First Place :  Tiffany Fields, Indian River Charter High School ,
“The Long Walk Home”.

Sculpture

Third place:  Nicole Bracy, Indian River Charter High School , “Obsidian”.

First Place , Jacob Duerr, Indian River Charter High School , “Ailuj”.

Special recognitions were given for student works that were expertly crafted and unique, but did not fit into the categories.
Those students are:

beaded headdress and necklace entitled “Artifact”.

Ashley Miller,
Indian River Charter High School ,
illustration entitled “Aaahh!”.

Thousands of museum visitors saw the work during the Children’s Art Festival on April 29th.  The exhibition will continue through May 18th in the Museum’s Studio Gallery.
