Dear Parents and Students of Indian River Charter High School,
We want to inform you that 1 student at IRCHS has tested positive for COVID-19. Following case investigations and contact tracing by the Department of Health, 17 students have been identified as meeting close contact criteria with the student who tested positive. These seventeen students will be required to quarantine, and monitor for symptoms, prior to returning to campus. The families of the seventeen students required to quarantine have been contacted and notified of this information by individual phone calls from the administration of the school. All IRCHS school families and staff members were notified via phone call and email confirming the positive case on campus, the number of individuals required to quarantine, and that the families of the students required to quarantine had been notified.
We will continue with measures designed to stop the spread of COVID-19, including mask requirements, daily temperature checks, routine hand washing, disinfecting atomizer/fogging machines, and ultraviolet air conditioning filters. Our school will remain open for in-person instruction. We ask anyone who is not feeling well and/or running a fever to remain home from school. We will keep you updated as this situation evolves. The safety and health of our students is our number-one priority.
